Melissa Data December 2010 must be installed by December 31, 2010. Address validation will stop working with your current version of Melissa Data on January 1, 2011 unless action is taken immediately!

Melissa Data is the address validation software used by X Dispatch that requires an annual update. This web site will provide you with installation instructions as well as frequently asked questions regarding the installation of Melissa Data.

Installation Instructions from Download

1. Download Melissa Data to your X Dispatch Server from here.

2. Select the option to Save or Save As.

3. You will then be prompted with what location you would like to save the file to. You will need to remember this location so put it somewhere easily accessible such as your desktop. Keep in mind you should be doing the download on the X Dispatch Server not a workstation.

4. The download can take several hours to complete depending on the speed of your internet connection so be prepared for this.

5. Run the file downloaded, MelissaDec09.msi.

6. Follow the prompts of the installer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to install Melissa Data December 2010 on my workstations?

A: No. You need to only install it on your X Dispatch Server.

Q: What happens if I dont install this before 12/31/2010?

A: Address validation will stop working with the current version of Melissa Data youre using starting January 1, 2010. You will receive error messages any time you attempt to validate an address.

Q: Do I need to restart my server after installing Melissa Data December 2010?

A: No.

Q: Can we continue to use X Dispatch while Melissa Data is being installed?

A: Yes, however address validation wont work during the installation. The installation should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Q: Why do I get an error that says "8" or "Melissa Data license has expired" when trying to validate an address?

A: This is because your installation of Melissa Data is out of date. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version.

Q: I received more than one CD in the mail. Do I need to install all of them?

A: Melissa Data has been known to send out an upgrade CD at the same time we also send out an upgrade CD. You shouldn't install the CD that is sent to you from Melissa Data as we have to make a special version of Melissa Data so that it will work with X Dispatch. Only install the CD sent to you from CXT Software.

Q: What directory do I need to install Melissa Data December 2010 to?

A: By default Melissa Data will point to C:\Program Files\Melissa\ which in most cases this is the correct location; however this may not be the case for you. You can see where X Dispatch is looking for Melissa Data by doing the following on your X Dispatch Server. Click on Start -> Programs -> CXT Software -> Config Utility (Server).
